Terms of Use

Ascend (com.ksil.ascend) · Last updated 6 October 2026

These terms cover using the Ascend app itself — the workout tracking, timers, exercise library, and the exercise demonstration videos and images. For what data is collected and how it is handled, see the privacy policy. For optional tips, see the purchase terms.

What Ascend is

Ascend is a workout logging and tracking tool. It helps you plan, schedule, and record your own workouts. It is not a personal trainer, a physical therapist, a medical device, or a substitute for professional coaching, diagnosis, or treatment.

Ascend does not supervise you while you exercise. No one reviews your form, your weight selection, or your readiness to train. All exercise decisions, and their consequences, are yours.

Exercise demonstrations are reference only

Exercise videos, images, and written cues in the app are provided as a general reference for what a movement looks like — they are not a certified instructional program, not personalised to you, and not a guarantee of correct or safe form for your body, equipment, or experience level. A demonstration is not verified against your individual mobility, injury history, or technique. If you are unsure how to perform a movement safely, learn it from a qualified in-person coach or physical therapist before adding it to your routine.

Consult a doctor first

Talk to a physician before starting Ascend or any new exercise program, especially if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, joint or musculoskeletal issues, or any condition that exercise could affect. Stop immediately and seek medical attention if you feel pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, or shortness of breath during a workout.

Assumption of risk

Physical exercise carries an inherent risk of injury, including but not limited to muscle strain, joint injury, falls, and, in rare cases, more serious harm, regardless of how it is performed. By using Ascend you acknowledge this risk and voluntarily assume full responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage that results from your use of the app or from performing any exercise you logged, scheduled, or viewed in it. You are responsible for using equipment you know how to use safely, training within your own limits, and stopping when something feels wrong.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ascend, its developer, and anyone associated with it are not liable for any injury, death, property damage, or other loss arising from or related to your use of the app, including reliance on its exercise library, demonstration videos, timers, or logged data. The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it is accurate, uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in this section limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

Accuracy of tracked data

Streaks, estimated one-rep max, volume, calorie, and progress figures are calculated from what you log and from device or Apple Health readings where enabled. They are estimates for your own reference, not clinical or scientifically verified measurements, and should not be the basis of a medical or nutritional decision.

Conduct

  • V2 has no account creation, sign-in, or workout cloud backup. Workouts remain on your device.
  • Do not use Ascend for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the service for others.
  • See the privacy policy for age-related information.

Optional tips

Tips are voluntary consumable in-app purchases processed by Apple. A tip unlocks nothing, is not a charitable donation, and does not create Premium access. The localized price shown by Apple's purchase flow controls. Completed consumable tips have no ongoing access to restore. Refund requests follow Apple's rules and process.

Changes to the app and these terms

Features may be added, changed, or removed over time. If these terms change materially, the updated version will be published here with a new date, and the change will be noted in the app release notes. Continuing to use Ascend after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of your country or state of residence to the extent that law applies, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
